Local MP joins retirement developer at new site in Quinton

Local MP Preet Gill visited Churchill Retirement Living’s highly-anticipated new retirement development in Quinton last week, which is currently under construction.

Mrs Gill visited the development on Wolverhampton Road South to meet the construction team and was also given an exclusive tour of the site. Once complete, the new development will comprise 43 privately owned, self-contained apartments that are specially designed for the over 60s with features such as a video-entry system, lift to all floors, a 24 hour care and support system, and a Lodge Manager. Communal facilities include an Owners’ Lounge, Guest Suite and landscaped gardens.

Stephen Freer, construction and commercial director at Churchill Retirement Living, said: “We were delighted that Mrs Gill was able to join us to see the progress we’re making on the new site. Churchill’s properties offer security, peace of mind and independent living for our Owners, along with community and support and have already attracted plenty of interest from retirees in the town. Being in a manageable home with low maintenance can offer a new lease of life for people – ensuring they are close to amenities, and surrounded by a new community. We are delighted to be bringing our new development to Quinton and have already seen lots of interest from local over 60s keen to find out more about the benefits of retirement living.”

Preet Gill MP, added: “I was grateful to Churchill Retirement Living for inviting me to the development for a tour. Retirement properties are a crucial part of helping to unblock the UK’s housing crisis and this new development is a significant addition to the housing provision here in Quinton. Specialist retirement housing is proven to have a very real, beneficial effect on older people’s health and wellbeing, be it from being in a modern, warm, well insulated home to having a sense of community and no more loneliness.”
