Owners make retirement garden blossom

A group of green-fingered Owners from Churchill Retirement Living’s Beecham Lodge in Cirencester have been busy making their garden bloom thanks to a kind donation made by the specialist housebuilder.

Retired Owners living at the Lodge on Somerford Road have set up their own gardening club as a hobby to enjoy during their spare time. Churchill Retirement Living were so impressed by their skills tending to the communal garden, that they have donated a brand new shed and a selection of hand tools for the retirees to use.

Trudi Pannell, Lodge Manager at Beecham Lodge, who helped set-up the gardening club, said: “We have some enthusiastic Owners at the Lodge who all really enjoy sharing their gardening tips with one another so our new club is a wonderful way for them to get together a few times a week. They have put in so much time and effort into the garden and it has certainly paid off - it’s become a real labour of love for us all.

“Everyone has been very supportive donating plants and money for the garden, so when Churchill Retirement Living heard about it and said they wanted to purchase a new shed for us, it really was the icing on the cake! Not only do the club and their neighbours get to enjoy their efforts, but we’ve also had a number of visitors commenting on how fantastic it looks too. We might event put ourselves forward for Cirencester in Bloom next year too, watch this space!”
