Home Exchange makes move run smoothly in Cirencester

Churchill Retirement Living’s Home Exchange scheme is helping people across the country move into their ideal retirement property in just a matter of weeks, taking all the worry out of downsizing. One such success story is that of 66-year-old Sharon Buckley, who sold her home to move to Churchill Retirement Living’s new Beecham Lodge development in the heart of Cirencester and is delighted with her decision.

Sharon says: “I lived in a delightful house in a nearby pretty village, but it was very high maintenance, so when my husband died it was time to think about a move. My children heard about Beecham Lodge and recommended I take a look, as they knew it would make a real difference for me to live somewhere completely new. I looked at lots of different apartments here, and they each have lovely features that make them all unique, but as soon as I walked into this one I knew it had to be my new home.”

Using Churchill’s Home Exchange scheme, Sharon received help every step of the way. “There are so many advantages to Home Exchange,” she says. “The whole process of moving was just wonderful, everything went smoothly, the sales executives were extremely helpful and it was such a weight off my mind.”

Sharon is now well settled in her new home and enjoying the security, peace of mind and independence which is at the heart of all Churchill’s carefully considered retirement developments.

“Being here takes all the worry away. I love the modern fitted kitchen and all the beautiful finishing touches in my new apartment, especially the attention to detail on things like the door fittings, fashionable taps and illuminated light switches. I have lots of friendly new neighbours, and it’s nice to know there will always be company there if I want to visit the Owners’ Lounge at any time of day.

“I enjoy all the social events arranged for us here, from Christmas dinner to a fish & chip evening, which are a lovely way to get everyone together and really get to know each other. The monthly film in the Owners’ Lounge is always fun, as is our adult colouring group, and we have tea and coffee afternoons all the time. We also occasionally have speakers come in and give talks and demonstrations which are very enjoyable. Trudi our Lodge Manager does a wonderful job of organising it all, and I can’t praise her highly enough for the way she looks after everything. I’m really happy here, and my family and I are so pleased I made the move.”

Beecham Lodge is a stylish collection of 35 one and two bedroom privately-owned retirement apartments designed for older purchasers. A Lodge Manager oversees the running of the development, and an Owners’ Lounge can be used as a place to enjoy a catch up with like-minded neighbours, or for holding events. There is also a Guest Suite for visitors.

The development is set in landscaped grounds in a central location, just a short distance from public transport links, shops and all the local amenities on offer in Cirencester. Prices currently start from £207,950.
