Pupils from Chesterton Primary School in Cirencester visited Churchill Retirement Living’s Beecham Lodge on Somerford Road to learn about toys from the past with the Owners.
20 reception pupils joined the Owners in the Lodge’s communal lounge to learn about famous toys from the 1940s and 1950s as part of their ‘Time Travellers’ school topic. The visit marks the ongoing partnership between Beecham Lodge and Chesterton Primary School, as Churchill looks to build community links in the areas surrounding its Lodges.

The children were so excited at the opportunity to visit everyone at Beecham Lodge and were buzzing when we left. It was lovely to hear the children learning about all of the games from when the owners were younger, their favourite was definitely the flying aeroplanes. We’re so grateful for Churchill Retirement Living for inviting us and look forward to planning our next visit.
