Alan Little and Les Law have been making new friends since moving into their new apartments at Churchill’s St Andrew’s Lodge development in the heart of Chippenham. After Les took the plunge and downsized from his old house in nearby Calne, he recommended the new lifestyle to Alan who is glad to have followed in his footsteps shortly afterwards.
Les says: “I served in the Royal Navy for 10 years and living here is similar in many ways, it feels like one big happy family. Most of us gather in the Owners’ Lounge from time to time, and between a snack and a cup of tea or coffee we enjoy putting the world to rights!
“Most of us are here for the same reason, we are all getting older and need to slow down a bit. I like the fact that my apartment is easy to keep clean and the kitchen is perfect for one chef. The quality of the building is also very impressive. It’s the best move I have ever made.”
Alan adds: “I’m 88 years of age and hope I can stay here for the rest of my life. I was recommended by my friend Les who also lives here. Now that I’m here too I feel very settled and everyone is very nice and helpful. My apartment is all brand new, it’s a one bedroom but has plenty of room, there is lots of cupboard space in the kitchen and everything’s perfect for me.
“My advice to anyone else who is considering a move would be don’t spend too long thinking about it!”
