176th Fromeside Brownies in Bristol benefit from £1,500 Churchill Foundation grant

Churchill’s New Pooles Lodge development in Bristol has a close connection with its local Brownies unit who regularly visit our Owners for carol singing, Easter egg hunts and other activities.

Recently we were delighted to award a £1,500 grant through the Churchill Foundation to help send the Brownies on a PGL Adventure Centre weekend, after a nomination from Lodge Manager Mike Tomlin and Area Manager Liz McMahon. It’s a great example of Churchill Colleagues giving something back to the local community through the Foundation!

Area Manager Liz McMahon said: “The intergenerational relationships forming between New Pooles Lodge and the local Brownies and Rainbows is heartwarming to see. The link began in 2021 and has flourished, even with Covid, the girls came to sing to Owners from the garden and lift their spirits during lockdown, which in turn led to them earning their entertainer’s badge, and the relationship has grown from there. All parties benefit from the connection and I see this as being a relationship that will continue to develop. It’s wonderful to be able to present this special grant to enable the girls to enjoy a weekend away at a PGL Adventure Centre later this year, where they can continue to develop their confidence and leadership.”
