Local MP Gagan Mohindra called by at Churchill Retirement Living<\/a>\u2019s Sheldon Lodge in Berkhamsted on Friday 16th<\/sup> October to congratulate those supporting the Macmillan Cancer Support\u2019s \u2018World\u2019s Biggest Coffee Morning\u2019 fundraising campaign.<\/p>\n

The Lodge held a small socially distanced coffee morning event for people living in the Lodge, raising an impressive total of over \u00a3680 for Macmillan. With its normal larger scale coffee mornings not possible this year due to Covid-19, Churchill still supported the campaign through smaller events attended by its Owners with table service provided by staff at the Lodge.  There has also been a \u00a35 Macmillan donation for every new Customer to visit the Lodge\u2019s Show Apartment during late September and early October. The Company has a special relationship with Macmillan Cancer Support and has raised over \u00a3500,000 for the charity since 2009.<\/p>\n

Gagan Mohindra MP said: \"It was a pleasure to call in at Sheldon Lodge and support the excellent fundraising efforts for Macmillan.  I am looking forward to visiting again at a time when I can properly meet people living at Sheldon Lodge but in the meantime it was good to say a socially-distanced hello to people living and working there. We need more options for people who might wish to downsize and continue living independently as they get older and retirement properties like those at Sheldon Lodge are a big part of helping to meet that challenge.\"<\/p>\n
