The Site Manager at Churchill Retirement Living\u2019s brand new Allingham Lodge<\/a> development in the heart of Eastbourne was proud to present a cheque for \u00a3500 to the local branch of the MY Trust<\/a> charity, supporting its work with young people in the area.<\/p>

The Eastbourne site was subject to a local labour agreement requiring developers to participate in a range of employment and training activities in the construction and operation of developments.  The donation was made as part of Churchill\u2019s commitment to support the employment and skills agenda in Eastbourne.<\/p>

My Trust exists to \u2018Prepare Young People for their Future' through a unique \u2018Theory of Change\u2019 framework. Accessed through Employability and Personal Development Programmes and projects across the county, the charity is determined that no young person is left behind and they can be the best they can be. <\/p>

Churchill\u2019s Regional Marketing Manager Anne Scherrer said:<\/p>

At Churchill we believe strongly in providing opportunities for the younger generation to kickstart a successful career in the housebuilding industry. Allingham Lodge has supported local contractors and created jobs for around 50 people during its construction phase, as well as providing work experience and mentoring opportunities for a number of young people in the town. It\u2019s a pleasure for us to make this donation to the MY Trust charity to support their excellent work in helping more young people onto the career ladder.<\/p><\/blockquote>

MY Trust Team Leader Louise Scott said:<\/p>

We\u2019re extremely grateful to Churchill Retirement Living and the team at Allingham Lodge for this very generous donation. Support like this is incredibly valuable to ensure we can keep delivering skills and employability services that help prepare young people for a successful future.<\/p><\/blockquote>

Allingham Lodge is a collection of 58 one and two bedroom privately owned retirement apartments and shared facilities, designed exclusively for the over 60s. It will offer quality retirement accommodation and safe and independent living close to local shops and amenities.
