Churchill Retirement Living has welcomed its first Owner at New Pooles Lodge in Fishponds<\/strong><\/a>, where a thriving community is starting to take shape. The age exclusive development on Staple Hill Road, just a short walk from Fishponds\u2019 town centre, has seen the first wave of Owners move into their brand new one and two bedroom apartments.<\/p>

The first to get her keys to her beautifully styled apartment was 88-year-old former teacher Patricia Watt, who moved into New Pooles Lodge in June. Patricia said: \u201cI\u2019ve lived all over the UK and most recently spent 10 years living with my second husband in Canada. We returned to the UK four years ago to be closer to my family. Before I moved to New Pooles Lodge, we lived in Emersons Green but sadly my husband passed away last year and I didn\u2019t feel that I needed to maintain a large home on my own anymore, so I decided to downsize.<\/p>

I\u2019d already decided that I\u2019d like to live in a retirement development, and what really determined it for me at New Pooles Lodge was that I was able to maintain my independence, but have access to 24-hour care support if I needed it.<\/p><\/blockquote>

\u201cI sold my house very quickly and exchanged on my new apartment at New Pooles Lodge the same day. The process was so simple and the Churchill team were fantastic throughout the move. It all went so smoothly, which was a huge relief for me.<\/p>

The location is ideal. I have six children and five of them live with their families all over Bristol so it was important for me to be close by to see them regularly. They can come to visit me in my apartment, which has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, so guests can stay over, and if we fancy going out, the town centre has lots of coffee shops and nice shops to look around.<\/p><\/blockquote>

\u201cWith a few more residents now moved in, we\u2019ve already had our first social event - a cream tea which was absolutely lovely. I\u2019ve started meeting new people at the coffee mornings and am really settling in well. I\u2019m really going to enjoy how sociable the Lodge is and am looking forward to meeting more new residents this summer. From the day I moved into my apartment it\u2019s felt like being on holiday.\u201d<\/p>

New Pooles Lodge is a superb development of 41 one and two bedroom purpose built retirement apartments, where prices start from \u00a3228,950. The development is located just half a mile from Fishponds\u2019 town centre, with its range of coffee shops, restaurants, supermarkets and retailers.
