Pupils from Malmesbury CofE Primary School in Malmesbury became budding wildlife enthusiasts after visiting Churchill Retirement Living\u2019s William Lodge development.<\/a><\/p>

The children were invited by the Lodge to help make its garden more wildlife friendly by adding a selection of bird feeders, bee biomes and butterfly homes to the development on Gloucester Road. They were kindly assisted by some of the Lodge Owners who were on hand to explain about the different wildlife they see in their garden on a daily basis.<\/p>

Geraldine Jones, teacher at Malmesbury C of E Primary School, said: \u201cThe children thoroughly enjoyed their visit to William Lodge and really engaged with the Owners as they explained all about the different bugs and birds in the garden. It was a great opportunity for the children to get out of school for some outdoor learning \u2013 and thankfully the rain held off for us!\u201d<\/p>

Caroline Haswell, Regional Marketing Manager at Churchill Retirement Living, said:<\/p>

We were thrilled to host the children from Malmesbury CofE Primary School and were grateful for their help making our garden at William Lodge somewhere homely and familiar for wildlife. The children were absolutely fantastic and the Owners really enjoyed talking to them about the wildlife we see in the garden. We would love to welcome the school back to see how their project is developing later in the year too.<\/p><\/blockquote>

William Lodge is a collection of 26 one and two bedroom privately owned retirement apartments and shared facilities, designed exclusively for the over 60s. The development is well located for the town\u2019s thriving high street with an array of independent retailers and a weekly farmers\u2019 and artisan market. The town\u2019s medieval streets with their old courtroom, shops and inns are dominated by the beautiful seventh-century abbey, one of England\u2019s most historic sites. Today the abbey holds regular services for the local community and is home to a bookshop and the Abbey Kitchen serving coffee and light snacks. The internationally renowned Abbey House Gardens surrounding the abbey offer a romantic and unique oasis in the centre of town and are often used for concerts and events through the summer.<\/p>
