Here\u2019s what they had to say about their trip... We arrived to a very warm welcome from Cheryl, the Lodge Manager at Tregolls Lodge.<\/a> She was very helpful throughout our three night stay and she also showed us two very attractive show apartments. We met several of the Owners, who were friendly and knowledgeable about the area.<\/p>

Where to visit...<\/h3>

The Royal Cornish Museum<\/strong> is well worth a visit. Whilst we were there, they had a Poldark exhibition on too.<\/p>

Right next to the museum is the Arts Cafe<\/strong>, which serves excellent light lunches and Cornish cream teas. It has a lovely secluded courtyard if you want to enjoy alfresco dining.<\/p>

Victoria Gardens<\/strong> are situated a little further away but still within walking distance, on the way to which are several restaurants and small bars, including The Italian Restaurant (which is its actual name).<\/p>

Where to eat...<\/h3>

We had a typical, but excellent, pub meal at the William IV<\/strong>. It offers some intimate inside seating as well as a very pleasant conservatory, and outside eating areas - or drinking of course! Don\u2019t miss the chips; they were sensational.<\/p>

One restaurant you really should visit is Sam\u2019s in the City<\/strong>. It serves great Cornish fish and seafood as well as meat dishes. We shared the bouillabaisse, which was packed full of Cornish scallops, mussels, prawns and lots of other fish. Too much even for us to finish, but an experience not to be missed by fish lovers.<\/p>

In Bridge Street we found Grounded<\/strong> where we had a superb Cornish crab sandwich made with thick local bread. The caf\u00e9 only seats twelve people, but has a very good takeaway service, so why not take one back to the lodge with Cornish cream scones and jam and have a picnic in the lodge\u2019s lovely garden?<\/p>

There are several more traditional pubs, coffee shops and restaurants, including The Cornish Vegan<\/strong>, which is a truly vegan restaurant in Kenwyn Street.<\/p>

After all this, and before returning to Leamington Spa, we bought Cornish pasties from Warrens Bakery<\/strong> (the oldest Cornish pasty maker in the world). We\u2019re not sure just how old he is, but the pasties were still fresh!<\/p>

We really enjoyed our three days in Truro, and are sure everybody else would too.
