A group of retirees living at Churchill Retirement Living\u2019s Chantry Lodge in Andove<\/a>r<\/a> have put on their dancing shoes and shimmied their way to better fitness in later life by taking part in their very own Zumba exercise classes.<\/p>

The classes were orchestrated by Lodge Manager Dorne Orpel to give the Owners an opportunity to keep fit and have fun.<\/p>

Dorne explains:<\/p>

Our Owners are always keen participants in activities that keep them busy and help with fitness and I thought that dance was something everyone could get stuck into. It\u2019s drawn quite the following so now every Wednesday morning, we have a regular group that gathers on the Roof Terrace to showcase their moves and enjoy a low impact workout.<\/p><\/blockquote>

Owner Shirley Borrett, who lives at Chantry Lodge, said:<\/p>

I like to keep active and healthy and Zumba is so much fun that you forget it\u2019s actually good for you! I have had a lot of issues with my shoulder but since starting the classes, my physio has said it has improved through the dancing, which is just fantastic!<\/p><\/blockquote>

Owners Mike and Dee Holmes added:<\/p>

It\u2019s a really fun session and a great way to get some exercise in, which is such an important thing to do as you get older. We\u2019ve certainly been feeling the benefits already!<\/p><\/blockquote>

Chantry Lodge is located in the heart of Andover on Chantry Road and comprises 65 one and two-bedroom purpose-built retirement apartments exclusively for the Over 60s. All of the apartments have spacious rooms throughout and are an ideal combination of design and functionality.<\/p>
