Retirees at Churchill Retirement Living\u2019s King\u2019s Lodge<\/a> development in Maidstone have been busy giving back this festive season by donating goods to local homeless charity, The Trinity Foyer.<\/p>

The collection was started by Lodge Manager Sue Robertson from Millstream Management Services, who looks after the day-to-day running of the Lodge on King Street. In order to collect much-needed items for the charity, Sue set up a reverse advent calendar in the Lodge\u2019s reception. Designed to mirror the traditional advent calendar, Owners were encouraged to donate an item every day in the lead up to Christmas Day, from biscuits and crisps, to tinned food.<\/p>

The Trinity Foyer, which is based close to King\u2019s Lodge on Church Street, helps young, single homeless people aged 16-24 by offering them temporary accommodation, as well as help with independent living skills, and guidance with employment, education and training.<\/p>

Sue said: \u201cI first read about reverse advent calendars earlier this year and thought it was such a nice, easy way to give back to the local community, especially given we have so many Owners\u2019 at the Lodge who can help. I thought it would be a good idea to do this for The Trinity Foyer, which is based just around the corner from us on Church Street.<\/p>

\u201cI put a box in reception at the start of December for collections and quickly had a large group of Owners willing to get involved by adding various items each day. I\u2019m thrilled with the support we\u2019ve had for this. We\u2019ve got a fantastic selection of products to donate and we\u2019re pleased to be helping The Trinity Foyer continue with the great work they do to support the homeless in Maidstone.\u201d<\/p>

King\u2019s Lodge comprises of 53 one and two bedroom apartments in the heart of Maidstone. The apartments boast spacious rooms throughout and are an ideal combination of design and functionality. Owners can also enjoy the added luxury of a stunning roof terrace to enjoy in the summer months. The fully fitted, stylish kitchens include a built in fridge and freezer, hob and an oven, which is located at an easy-reach height. All of the properties benefit from illuminated light switches for added convenience. Owners also enjoy ultimate peace of mind from a fitted camera entry system, for the highest level of security, and a 24 hour emergency call system.<\/p>

With less to worry about, Owners will have more time to do the things they enjoy, including taking advantage of the host of other benefits which are on offer, including having family or friends to stay in the development\u2019s well-appointed Guest Suite, enjoying a chat with neighbours, or attending one of the many events, in the Owners\u2019 Lounge.<\/p>
