Churchill Retirement Living has welcomed its first Owners at Mount\u2019s Bay Lodge, in Penzance<\/a>,<\/strong> where a thriving community is starting to take shape at the popular harbour side development.<\/p>

The age exclusive development, on New Town Lane, which boasts striking views of the sea, over to Marazion and across Mount\u2019s Bay, comprises 51 brand new one and two bedroom apartments, and has seen the first wave of Owners move into their new homes.<\/p>

Amongst the retirees now calling Mount\u2019s Bay Lodge home are 76 year old John Barrett and his wife Pamela, who moved from their home in St Buryan. The couple moved to Cornwall in 1979 and bought a hotel in Lelant, which they ran until their retirement in 2003. John said: \u201cAfter our retirement we moved to St Buryan where we lived for 14 years, but we recently decided it was time to downsize. We\u2019ve got a taste for living by the seaside so we knew we wanted to retire here, but worried about finding a suitable development.<\/p>

\u201cWhen we saw Mount\u2019s Bay Lodge was being built, there was no doubt that it was the perfect place for us. Although we\u2019re a very active couple, we still wanted to be within easy walking distance of the local shops and amenities, as well as the railway station. The Churchill team have been fantastic throughout as well. When our home sold sooner than expected but our apartment was still under construction, Churchill offered for us to spend a month living at its other Cornish development, Tregolls Lodge in Truro, which we were very grateful for.<\/p>

\u201cIt\u2019s exceeded all of our expectations from day one. Our apartment looks straight over the harbour, so we often enjoy a cup of tea on the balcony watching the world go by \u2013 it\u2019s like being on a nice cruise ship!\u201d<\/p>

Mount\u2019s Bay Lodge offers a collection of 51 one and two bedroom privately owned retirement apartments and shared facilities, designed exclusively for the over 60s. Apartments boast spacious rooms throughout and an ideal combination of design and functionality. The fully fitted, stylish kitchens include a built in fridge and freezer, hob and an oven, which is located at an easy-reach height. All of the properties benefit from illuminated light switches for added convenience. Owners also enjoy ultimate peace of mind from a fitted video entry system for the highest level of security and a 24 hour emergency call system.<\/p>

With less to worry about, Owners will have more time to do the things they enjoy, including taking advantage of the host of other benefits which will be on offer including having family or friends to stay in the development\u2019s well-appointed Guest Suite, and enjoying a chat with neighbours, or attending one of the many events, in the Owners\u2019 Lounge.<\/p>

The development is located in a central location with private gated parking and a south facing first-floor terrace, just a short distance from public transport links, shops and all the local amenities on offer in Penzance.<\/p>

Standing on the shores of Mount's Bay, Penzance has a wealth of good shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Market Jew Street - a busy shopping street - connects with the harbour area through the Wharfside Shopping Centre.
