A site manager at Churchill Retirement Living\u2019s new Laurel Lodge<\/strong><\/a> has made two little boys dreams come true by giving them a VIP tour of the new development in Carshalton.<\/p>

Seven year old Mitchell James and his five year old brother Cameron, who live on Denmark Road where the new Lodge is being built, met with Gordon Moore for an exclusive tour of the building site.<\/p>

Emma James, the boy\u2019s mother, said: \u201cWe live just down the road from Laurel Lodge and every day on our way to school, we have watched the building come to life and grow from the ground up. Mitchell and Cameron have loved watching all of the big diggers and machinery arriving, as well as waving up at the crane driver each morning. We have been impressed with how good all the drivers and builders have been, making no mess at all, or any noise, and have not caused any problems to the road.<\/p>

\u201cAs the building began to near its completion, the boys became determined to fill their backpacks with toys to move into the Lodge. They were quite sad when I explained that it was actually being built for Owners who are over 60!\u201d<\/p>

\"LaurelAfter enjoying watching the boy\u2019s enthusiasm for the new development grow as they passed the development every day, Emma decided to contact Churchill Retirement Living to tell them just how much her boys were enjoying watching the Lodge being built. Churchill were so heartened by the news that they decided to invite Emma, Mitchell, Cameron and their grandma for their very own private tour.<\/p>

Emma added: \u201cTo say that we were excited was an understatement! We were given a tour of the new show complex and the Owner\u2019s Lounge where we were treated to a drink from the brand new coffee bar. We were then given high vis jackets and hard hats so we could be shown around the rest of the work site. The boys\u2019 dreams came true when they were allowed to sit in the digger. We learnt all sorts, from how the temperature is controlled from the huge cores dug deep into the ground, to the environmental rating of the building, which Mitchell was fascinated with.<\/p>

\u201cIt was such a wonderful experience for the boys to see the site and machinery, and learn about the building process. They were very fortunate to be given such an opportunity and had great fun telling all of their school friends about their adventure. We\u2019re very grateful for Churchill for organising the visit and the boys are looking forward to meeting their new neighbours when they move in.\u201d<\/p>

Laurel Lodge is a stylish collection of 57 one and two bedroom privately-owned retirement apartments designed for the over 60s. A resident Lodge Manager will oversee the day-to-day running of the development, and there will be an Owners\u2019 Lounge, complete with a coffee bar, which can be used as a place to enjoy a catch up with like-minded neighbours, or for holding events. There will also be a Guest Suite for friends and family to stay in.<\/p>

The development is set in landscaped grounds in a central location, just a short distance from public transport links, shops and all the local amenities on offer in Carshalton.<\/p>
