Pupils from The Grove Primary School in Frimley visited Churchill Retirement Living\u2019s Stokes Lodge<\/strong><\/a> to share a story with the Owners.<\/p>

20 children from the school\u2019s choir performed songs for the retired Owners before splitting into groups and reading aloud from their story books. The visit marks the ongoing partnership between Stokes Lodge and The Grove Primary school, as Churchill looks to build community links in the areas surrounding its Lodges.<\/p>

The visit was led by Owner Jacqueline Paye, who published her own book Teddy Bears and Doodlebugs, a collection of first-hand memories of World War II written from the perspective of an eight year old child, last year.<\/p>

Class Teacher Sarah Young said: \u201cThe children were delighted at the opportunity to visit everyone at Stokes Lodge and were so excited to perform for the Owners and staff. It was lovely to hear the children sharing their stories with the Owners too. The children\u2019s journey to becoming fluent readers will benefit greatly from the opportunity to read to the Owners at Stokes Lodge.\u201d<\/p>

Anne Scherrer, regional marketing manager at Churchill Retirement Living, said: \u201cWe thoroughly enjoyed the visit from the children and their choir performance was a wonderful treat. It\u2019s great for the Owners to get involved with visits like this. We are always keen to arrange an assortment of events to take place in the Owners\u2019 Lounge at the Lodge, and look forward to welcoming the children back again.\u201d<\/p>

Stokes Lodge is a stylish collection of 61 one and two bedroom privately-owned retirement apartments designed for the over 60s. A resident Lodge Manager oversees the running of the development, and there is an Owners\u2019 Lounge which can be used as a place to enjoy a catch up with like-minded neighbours, or for holding events.  There is a Guest Suite for visitors, a Wellbeing Suite offering convenient on-site hairdressing and treatment facilities, as well as a roof terrace offering stunning views over Camberley.<\/p>

The development is set in a central location, just a short distance from public transport links, shops and all the local amenities on offer in Camberley. <\/p>
