One success story is that of 82 year old Pat Flewitt, who had lived in the coastal village of Sennen for 30 years when she upped sticks to move north to Tregolls Lodge in Truro. Pat had sadly been widowed a few years before and her son Mark had become increasingly worried that she might become lonely living by herself in their large family home.<\/p>

Mark, who currently lives in Essex, said: \u201cWe were so lucky to have called Sennen home for so many years \u2013 the people and the beautiful scenery made us feel very blessed. But, when we lost my dad and my sister, it meant change for all of us. It knocked mum\u2019s confidence quite a bit, and my brother Robert and I knew mum needed somewhere that was both manageable for her and had a real sense of community.<\/p>

\u201cWhen I first saw Tregolls Lodge I immediately put my name on the list to view the apartments. We all loved it and knew it was the right path to take. Mum\u2019s house was soon on the market and before we knew it, she was moving into the Lodge. It felt like home instantly with mum quickly enjoying the company of her neighbours.\u201d<\/p>

Pat said: \u201cI have settled into Tregolls Lodge wonderfully and often go down to the Owners\u2019 Lounge for the various events that are held there. It has been a very fortunate move for me and my family are reassured that I\u2019m safe and secure in my new apartment. We also have a wonderful Guest Suite in the Lodge so my family can come to stay and enjoy the sights that Truro and the surrounding has to offer. The Lodge is close to public transport too so everything is within easy reach for me.\u201d<\/p>

Mark added: \u201cThe sense of wellbeing that mum feels at the Lodge is more valuable to us than I can express. My brother Robert lives locally so he pops into the Lodge frequently to see mum. The caring support of Cheryl the Lodge Manager is superb too, whether you\u2019re staying overnight in the Guest Suite as I have, or just popping in for a visit, it\u2019s always a welcoming place with a lovely atmosphere.<\/p>

\u201cMum\u2019s apartment is homely yet manageable for her to truly relax and retire in. My family now think of Tregolls Lodge as a family home, not just a place for mum\u2019s retirement!\u201d<\/p>

Tregolls Lodge on St Clements Hill comprises 59 one and two bedroom apartments specially designed for the over 60. All of the apartments have spacious rooms throughout and are an ideal combination of design and functionality. The fully fitted, stylish kitchens include a built in fridge and freezer, hob and an oven, which is located at an easy-reach height. All of the properties also benefit from illuminated light switches for added convenience.<\/p>
