Churchill Retirement Living is celebrating after picking up a local design award for its Sheldon Lodge development in Berkhamsted.<\/p>

The complex of 48 privately-owned retirement apartments and communal facilities on High Street received a commendation from the Berkhamsted Citizens Association as part of its annual Environment Awards.  The awards are presented to the facility which is considered by a panel of judges to have contributed most to the enhancement of Berkhamsted. <\/p>

Greg Hilton, Churchill\u2019s Regional Managing Director (Eastern), commented: \u201cSheldon Lodge has been carefully designed to be sympathetic to its surroundings, combining architectural heritage as well as innovative design - and it\u2019s fantastic to be recognised in this way.<\/p>

\u201cThe development is right in the heart of the town centre with all amenities right on your doorstep, yet is just a short distance from stunning countryside with lots of lovely walks nearby \u2013 it really is the best of both worlds.\u201d <\/p>

The commendation is the latest in a number of award wins for Churchill Retirement Living who recently received the maximum five-star rating in an independent customer satisfaction survey, by industry body the Home Builders Federation (HBF).  The retirement developer was also named in the Top 100 Best Companies to work for in the UK by the Sunday Times. Achieving 14th place, Churchill was the only housebuilder to make the listing.<\/p>
