A Churchill Retirement Living development in Sale which is managed by Millstream Management Services has been awarded a National Housing for Older People Award by the national housing charity for older people, Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC).<\/p>

Brindley Lodge achieved the Bronze award in the \u2018retirement housing 40-49 units\u2019 category, which was awarded for both the quality of the property, as well as the services provided by Millstream Management Services<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>

More than 4,000 residents from 360 specialist housing schemes helped choose the award winners in a unique process overseen by the EAC, which culminated in an awards presentation at The Hilton Hotel in Manchester this month.<\/p>

The residents scored their retirement scheme on a variety of statements relating to both the quality of the property, including location, build quality, space and design and the care and support their receive, including staff attitudes, social activities and integration into the wider community.<\/p>

Also successful in gaining \u201chighly commended\u201d certificates were Churchill\u2019s retirement developments, Ballard Lodge in Shepperton and Wellington Lodge in Camberley, both managed by Millstream Management Services<\/a>.<\/p>

Spencer McCarthy, Chairman and Group Managing Director at Churchill Retirement Living, said: \u201cWe\u2019re absolutely thrilled to have been recognised in this way by the Elderly Accommodation Counsel for a number of our developments across the UK. Good quality, specialist retirement properties are a crucial part of both promoting the health and wellbeing of the elderly, thus helping to alleviate the pressure on the NHS, as well as helping to unblock the UK\u2019s housing crisis. However, as the latest report to come out of the select committee on National Policy for the Built Environment highlighted again just last week, we need many more of them, which is where the Government has an important role to play.\u201d<\/p>

EAC Chief Executive, John Galvin, underlined the importance of the Awards. \u201cThey continue to convey a strong, positive message about the success of retirement housing and housing-with-care, and also to celebrate the fact that provision is becoming more diverse\u201d.<\/p>
