Churchill Retirement Living apartments are proving to be the perfect solution for sun-seeking retirees keen to make the most of their new found leisure time both at home and abroad. Harry and Sheila Eyre have enjoyed going on cruises for the past thirty years, so when they decided that their large family home in Honiton was becoming just too much, they made sure they moved closer to Southampton to be nearer to the cruise ships.<\/p>\n

Sheila comments, \u201cWe moved into Barnes Lodge at the end of August 2014 and we are extremely pleased we made the move. We have lived here for 14 months now and have been away cruising for seven months of those! <\/em><\/p>\n

“Living here has made everything about travelling so easy. Abi, the Lodge Manager is able to come in and check the apartment for us and we don\u2019t have to worry about switching the heating on and off \u2013 we can simply lock up and leave and know everything will be safe and sound when we return.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe were also able to get a discount on our world cruise using our Churchill Retirement Reward Card<\/a> which was a lovely surprise and something we will be doing again.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Joyce Brett is another keen holidaymaker who is benefitting from the security and reassurance of having an on-site Lodge Manager. She explains: \u201cI went on a two week cruise to Norway this summer and often go on coach trips to places like Derbyshire and the Lake District. It\u2019s wonderful to know I can go away and there\u2019s someone on hand if there\u2019s any problems. <\/em><\/p>\n

!I feel much happier about going away now than when I was living on my own. Abi is wonderful and she always pops in to check on the apartment and water my orchids while I\u2019m away. I\u2019ve already got another cruise and a holiday to the Canary Islands planned for next year.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Arthur and Jean Gent moved to Barnes Lodge after a recommendation from their doctor and are now making the most of the ‘lock up and leave’ lifestyle the Lodge offers them.\u00a0 Arthur explains: \u201cOur Son lives in Cyprus and we\u2019ve just come back from visiting him for two weeks. We also go to Torquay a couple of times a year, so having Abi here to look after things while we are away is fantastic. “Abi checks on the apartment, takes in any deliveries and even put some milk and bread in for when we got back late from Cyprus the other week. She does an amazing job.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
